One thing led to another.....

Just had my breakfast outside on the deck on this lovely sunny Sunday morning in Dublin.  Sat there for a while, (a long while) until a big black rain cloud came over and hid the sun from my view.

I sat there in the sunshine trying no to think about having to finish painting the room I started yesterday.  It's beginning to look good,  and should look very nice when I am finished.  But, you know when you go to do something, you always find that there is something else that needs to be done, well I have that problem now, but it was of my own making.

Yesterday before I started painting, I thought I would take down the window blind so that I didn't get paint on it.  So I pulled the string to roll it up, to make it easier to take down, and the whole blind landed at my feet in a heap.  And not only the blind, but the brackets that hold it in.  And not only the brackets, but half the plaster from the window with them.  And not only that blind, but it took the one beside it with it and the brackets and plaster from that one too.  And they also left me with a nasty gash on my arm as it hit me on the way down!  Boo Hoo! :-(

Then after I cleaned that up, I decided to move the bed into the middle of the room so that I would have a clear path round the room to paint, and as I pushed it, I heard a loud crack.  I didn't feel any pain, so I knew it wasn't one of my bones!!  So I peeped under the bed and discovered that one of the wooden lats underneath the bed had given way and then it too fell in a heap.  So I fell in a heap on top of it. I am worn out before I even start.  This room is out to get me!

So now I have a big bandage on my arm and a lovely (nearly) painted clean room, with a broken bed, that everybody on the road can see because I have no blind on the window.  Later today, when I finish painting I have to go and look for a new blind, because the old broke in pieces when it landed.  And then I have to go and look for somebody who can fix the plaster.  And then I have to go and look for somebody with a drill who can refit the blind for me, and hopefully fix the bed too......Effort!!

At least I didn't get paint on my shoe and walk it all over the house......oh wait.....

The sun's back out......Is it too early for a drink....?
