Girl power!

I have made two new friends in the past 24 hours, and I can credit both new friendships to the power of the written word!  I'm very proud.

The first one (Hi Nellie - I am guessing you are reading!) is somebody I will probably never meet, and the second is somebody I will probably meet almost every day!

Nellie (who is travelling the US in an RV with her husband and crazy dog) found me through my Blog!  And my other new friend, who's name I don't know yet because we were too busy talking about books to bother with introductions, found me through my daily lunchtime routine of sitting at the dock reading!

Nellie wants to read about life in Ireland through my Blog (oh dear, how can I tell her, my blog is only about the rain in Ireland!! :-/ ) and my other new friend, Miss X, who I know is Eastern European, wants to read about Ireland through books written by Irish Authors.  So, Miss X is reading her way round Ireland, while poor Nellie only gets to read her way round my head.

Miss X and myself had a discussion today about the book that I am reading, which is set in Co Cork.  She hasn't yet read anything about Cork so she was very interested.  I told her she could have it when I was finished with it and she was amazed that I was so generous.  I explained to her that I bought it yesterday for €1 and would be glad to pass it on, but she was still amazed.  She offered me the one she is reading, but I have already read that one!!

So, I am looking forward to seeing how my relationships with my two new friends go.

But...(there's always a but!!)  I was just thinking, like in the book that I am reading, why wasn't it a handsome male that noticed me reading at the dock everyday and came over to say hello......BIG SIGH!!
