Dear reader(s)
I hope you're well.
Well I was going to write to you and tell you what a marvelous time I had skiing over the weekend. So I got out my computer, turned it on and first thing I saw was a message from my brother telling me that his dog has just died. Oh No!! He has had him 10 years. RIP Rocky.
I feel sad.....
Unless you have, or have had a dog, you won't understand how horrible this actually is. I had to have a dog put down a couple of years ago and I still think of him. As you know, I do have another dog (Rusty) now, for my sins, and I don't know what I would do without him. In my brothers words "Rocky was a complete git and never did what he was told, but he had a great personality".
I feel nostalgic....
He was a boxer, white, with a black eye, hence the name 'Rocky'. Apparently his reign of terror in Chelsea (London) is now over. My brother brought him to my Uncles house and buried him in the huge forest that borders his back garden, beside his (Rocky's) father 'George' . My nephew Alex, wanted to know why he couldn't dig him up and bring him home.....oh to be five!!
I feel cheered up.....
Cheered up enough to tell you that I had a great time on the slope in the snow dome, and it felt great to be outdoors, even tho' it was indoors, if you know what I mean. Inside we were wearing thermal underwear hats and scarves and - in my case - two pairs of gloves and socks. But when you go outside, its warm and sunny and you are wearing a t-shirt and sandals! A very strange feeling! A bit like the feeling in my fingers and toes, or was that the lack of feeling!!
I feel.....eh......felt cold.
Some day, when I eventually learn to stay upright, I will make a great skier! For now tho' I will have to just resign my self to the fact that I am hopeless and only for my very patient instructor, I would have given up after the first lesson. At least I don't ski with my knees together anymore! And I am able to get up now by myself when I fall down. And I can get off the ski lift all on my own without the aid of 14 able bodied men....
I feel silly....
OK, I'm off now to soak all my bruises in a nice hot bath. Oh wait.....I don't have a bath........
I feel bruised....
