Postcards from the edge.

I didn't get to the Library yesterday so, I was on the hunt for a book, one that I hadn't already read.  I was in my old bedroom in my parents house.  It's a guest room now and looks completely different from how it looked when I resided there.  There are always books in there, for the guests and left by the guests. Searching for a novel takes ages, 'cos you have to read the back of all of them to see if you recall the story to remind yourself if you have read it or not.  Sometimes I have to read a bit of the book too, just in case!  Anyway, during my search for a novel to read, a Postcard fell out of one of them,  it was addressed to me.  Whoever was reading the book last must have been using it as a book mark.  It's a bit yellow round the edges and the date stamp is 11th June........1981!  It has blue tack in each corner, so I must have had it on the wall at some stage too.

I am still laughing.  It was written by a friend that I have just recently got back in touch with.  She was in Scotland with her sister.  A quote from the card:

"the only time I take off me wellies is when I'm going to bed (and that's only sometimes), and the only big strong hairy beasts I have seen so far are the cattle"...

Her sense of humour is still the same, and she still hasn't taken off the wellies!!

So, I found two books, and some nice memories.  And a new bookmark!
