There was an 'old' fella called Pat,
Who had a staff and a tall hat,
He looked after the sheep
got very little sleep
And on the top of a mountain he sat!
We decided to make him our 'Saint'
About that, he had no complaint
Every year with a parade
much merriment is made
And we Irish don't show any restraint!
We drink pints of beer that are green,
and all over the world can be seen
to enjoy our National day
in the very best way
that we can, even tho we're now 'European'
