OK, you have survived a plane crash in the Canadian mountains along with several other passengers. Its -25 degrees daytime temp and -40 degrees night time temp. The pilot and the co-pilot are dead. The nearest town is 20km away and the terrain is woody with several rivers running through it. You are dressed for a business meeting. The following 12 items are available to you. Put them in order of importance for your survival and explain why?
Wire wool
Cig lighter (with no fuel)
Newspaper - one per passenger
Extra clothes, trousers and shirts
20m x 20m sheet of canvass
Loaded .45 Pistol
Compass
Part of a map (laminated)
Tin of animal fat
Large bar of chocolate (one per passenger)
Bottle of whiskey
Axe
(The things you have to do nowadays to get a job.....)
You dont need the compass or the map because you aint going to walk out of there. Best idea is stay put and put on the extra clothes with the newspaper in between the layers for extra warmth. Using the whisky as fuel in the cig lighter cut down some fire wood with the axe and make a fire. Make a shelter with the canvas, sit under it and eat the chocolate while you figure out how to make a flare out of the gun powder in the bullets, wire wool and animal fat. With the remaining bullets shoot anyone who touches your chocolate or drinks any of your remaining whisky. Lastly, wait to be either rescued or shot by another survivor.
ReplyDeleteYou survived!! Not so sure about your fellow passengers tho'. Only shoot them if you are going to eat them!!
ReplyDeleteBTW Never drink alcohol in the cold, it lowers your body temp and you would die quicker!! Also there are many uses for the animal fat and wire wool.....but I'm not going to tell you in case anybody else want's to play!!
You may have survived......but did you get the job???
